Bethel MVCTC STEM Students Explore Engineering at Honda HALO Wind Tunnel

Students in Mrs. Davis’s Bethel-MVCTC Industrial Robotics class expanded their learning beyond the classroom through a hands-on exploration of wind-tunnel technology.

As part of the Hypersonic Horizons: High Speed Video Challenge, students researched, planned, designed, and built their own wind tunnels. To deepen their understanding, the class visited the Honda HALO Wind Tunnel in East Liberty, where they learned about real-world testing processes, facility design, and engineering applications.

Students attending the visit included Jonathan Huynh, Adel Eljawad, Connor McElroy, Kade Schweikhardt, Thad Manly, Braeden Statesman, Jayden Graves, Eli Lammers, Cooper O'Loughlin, and Landon Miller.

Students were also given the opportunity to walk through the wind tunnel, providing a unique, firsthand look at the technology's scale and function.

This experience connected classroom learning to real-world engineering, giving students valuable insight into careers in advanced manufacturing and design.
