MVCTC Featured in Ohio School Facilities Video Guide
Miami Valley Career Technology Center is one of 10 Ohio schools featured in a new video resource guide from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC). The guide gives school districts a firsthand look at how communities plan facilities that meet their students’ needs.
The video shares MVCTC’s story, from planning and construction to the ways its specialized labs, classrooms, and hands-on learning spaces support students today. It offers other districts an example of how facility decisions can reflect career-technical programs and the industries they serve.
“The transformation of Miami Valley Career Technology Center represents an investment in our students, our staff, and the future workforce of our region,” said Superintendent Dr. Nick Weldy. “Every improvement was made with purpose: creating a safe, modern learning environment that allows us to serve more students while ensuring our career-technical programs continue to evolve alongside the industries we support.”
Governor Mike DeWine and OFCC announced the new online Educational Planning Guide to help districts understand the school planning, funding, design, and construction process. Its 26-video library includes practical guidance and stories from schools across Ohio. MVCTC is among the 10 schools selected to share its experience.
For MVCTC, the opportunity to tell that story is also a chance to show what students gain from spaces designed around their work. Learning with current technology and equipment in settings that reflect today’s workplaces helps students build technical skills, confidence, and professionalism.
