MVCTC Computer Networking and Cybersecurity students stand together holding medals and award plaques after earning top finishes at the BPA Regional Awards Ceremony.

During CTE Month, MVCTC is spotlighting its Computer Networking & Cybersecurity program, led by MVCTC alumnus Dylan Kemp.

Students recently earned multiple top placements at the BPA Regional Awards Ceremony, including a sweep in Network Administration using Cisco, and several qualifiers advancing to the BPA State Leadership Conference in February.

The program prepares students for high-demand careers by building skills in cybersecurity defense, network installation/configuration, wireless networking, operating systems, digital forensics, and risk management. Students also train toward industry certifications such as CCNA and Cisco cybersecurity support credentials, while gaining work-based learning and college credit opportunities.

We kicked off our CTE Month Spotlight Series with a visit to MVCTC’s Robotics & Automation lab alongside instructor Mr. Van Henderson.

Students here are designing, building, and programming industrial robots, learning PLCs, robotic welding, and even creating combat robots for competition. These hands-on skills connect directly to high-demand careers in Ohio’s advanced manufacturing and automation industries.

United States Senator Jon Husted visited MVCTC on November 14 to learn more about the district’s career-technical education programs. During his visit, he met with MVCTC leadership and statewide CTE representatives before touring several programs, including Drones & GIS Technologies, Welding, and Pre-Nursing. Senator Husted spoke directly with instructors and students about their training, certifications, and career goals, highlighting MVCTC’s role in preparing Ohio’s future workforce.
