Education Foundation

Our Education Foundation was formed in 1991 by the MVCTC staff and various community leaders who wanted to provide targeted assistance to students needing financial help to complete their education. They believed that our school would be the conduit that would connect skilled, well trained, entry-level workers with jobs. The Foundation provides assistance according to need. First, the Foundation provides financial support to both high school and adult students for career-specific materials and tools. Second, the Foundation dispenses “emergency needs” funds for situations that demand immediate attention and have exhausted all other resources. Third, the Foundation offers scholarships annually to help students who want to go on to post-secondary education.

Why Now?

Each year, our secondary programs serve over 2,200 high school students while our adult programs serve over 15,000 adults. The Miami Valley economic situation is such that many of these people have had to overcome formidable barriers to achieve their goals, and the staff at MVCTC is ready to assist the existing labor force by preparing them for the high tech jobs of the future. Tax dollars can be used to operate the schools, but the assistance several of our students need to eventually stand on their own two feet cannot come from tax dollars. Your charitable donation can help us provide temporary assistance to those in need. Whether it is by providing temporary rent money, funds for emergency medical services, school fees, etc, the Foundation provides short term assistance for long term independence!

Mission

The Mission of the MVCTC Education Foundation is to assist students whose financial or personal needs would prevent them from achieving an education and reaching their full potential. The belief of the Foundation is that as our students succeed, we all succeed as individuals and as a community.

Our Partners

Collaborating partners of the MVCTC Education Foundation include the MVCTC staff, community members, the MVCTC Education Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Dayton Foundation that provides fiscal management.
